Ιωάννης Γρυπιώτης Grypiotis Ioannis - Biography

Ioannis Grypiotis was born in 1967 in Sparta Laconias, to George and Vasiliki Grypiotis, born Nikitaki.
   He studied medicine in the Medical - Surgical School of Padua, Italy and graduated in 1999. He specialized in Anesthesiology. He obtained a Master's degree in Emergency Medicine. From 2000 to 2002 he worked as an Assistant Physician for the  Orthopedic Department of the Hospital of Sparta. From
2002 to 2006 he worked as an Anesthesiologist in the General Hospital of Athens. In 2002, he became a member of the Audit Committee of the Medical Association of Laconia and stood as candidate for Athens Medical Association. In 2006 he worked as a 2nd Supervisor Auxiliary Doctor at the Hospital of Molaoi. He is currently working as 1st Supervisor of Anesthesiology at the Hospital of Molaoi. He is a member of Associetion of Anesthesiologists and the Associetion of Healing Pain. He has been a candidate for Doctors Without Borders and active member of the Volunteer Doctors Team fighting against drugs. He has actively participated in writing medical textbooks. He has taken an active part in trade unionism and was elected as member of the supervising committee of Athens - Piraeus union of Physicians in the General Hospital of Athens in 2004 .
His participation in the local government began in 2002 when he was elected Prefectural Advisor of Laconia. During his tenure he served as Vice President of the Prefecture Council, President of Laconian Εmigrants and President of the Sports Sector of the Prefecture. In the 2006 Local Government elections he was elected Mayor of Skala. On January 2 2011, was appointed Mayor of the enxpanded Kallikaratic Municipality of Evrotas. Since January 2012 he haw been a member of the Committee of Social Affairs, Employment and Solidarity of KEDE (Central Union of Municipalities of Greece).
He is married to Asimina Piperou and father of two children ,Vasiliki and Penelope.
